2,000,000
women are jailed in the U.S. each year.
80%
of them are mothers.
Despite the high number of incarcerated mothers and their children, there are very few programs & services specifically designed to support them.
More than 2 million children in the USA have a parent in jail or prison. Women are the fastest growing incarcerated population in our country.
The US incarcerates more people than any other country in the world. The majority of women incarcerated in the United States are mothers. Incarcerated mothers face enormous challenges to maintain relationships with their children, including being put in prisons hundreds of miles away from their children.

The cost to communicate while in prison is often prohibitively expensive, and the processes and requirements for visiting are complicated and dehumanizing. Our goal is to facilitate and ease the process for children to communicate with their mothers who are serving their time in prison.
Separating mothers from their children, often for non-violent crimes, hurts more than just the individual. The effect on families, society and the well being of children is tremendous - emotionally, economically and socially. Unfortunately, mothers from Black, Latino, Indigenous and other people of color disproportionately bear the brunt of these harms.
Our work is just a small step to try to support these children because it is important that they never forget, MOMS LOVE FOREVER.
